    Riddle School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Worker.  8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
     
    Salary/Pay Rate:  $21.67 - $24.87 per hour

    JOB SUMMARY
    This position performs work in the maintenance, groundskeeping, construction and repair of buildings and equipment as needed.  Performs duties with moderate supervision.
     
    DUTIES
    This not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties or functions associated with the job.
    • Performs routine groundskeeping duties including insect control, grass cutting, and tree and shrub trimming to maintain the grounds in a safe and attractive condition.  Removes debris from school grounds.
    • Operates and maintains lawn mowers and sweepers and other power equipment used in grounds work (sprayers, pruners, and trimmers) to ensure they work effectively and safely.
    • Scrapes, sands, fills, or in other manners prepares surface for painting or repainting.
    • Applies finishes, paints, and stains to various surfaces such as wood, metal, glass, plaster, stucco, wall board, brick and cement.
    • Maintains flower beds and other landscaping including laying bark, weeding, edging etc.
    • Sets-up and maintains athletic fields and tracks.
    • Inventories grounds equipment and supplies.
    • Performs routine maintenance work such as installing recreational equipment, fences, digging ditches, laying pipe, moving bleachers, etc.
    • May assist in performing plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, construction or repair.
    • Performs minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment.
    • Assists with winterization of any outside waterlines or faucets.
    • May have to respond after hours in the event of an emergency.
    • Works collaboratively with District and building administrators as well as other Transportation Department staff to provide reliable service to customers.
    • Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately to supervisor.
    • Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required. 
    • Other duties as assigned.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.
    • Previous experience working in maintenance positions preferred.
