QUALIFICATIONS: 
1.  High School Diploma
2.  Exempleary interpersonal, communication, technology, organizational, clerical skills.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.         Reception duties
2.         Collect attendance and follow up phone calls related to attendance
3.         Xeroxing
4.         Fill supply requisitions for teachers and staff
5.         Inventory supply orders
6.         Typing and filing of purchase orders as requested by the principal
7.         Registration of new students
8.         Distribution of new student records to teachers and nurse
9.         Removal of transferring students from appropriate lists
10.       Completion of permanent record card
11.       Send records of transferring students to requesting school
12.       Distribution of papers to teachers and students
13.       Distribution of mail to teachers and staff
14.       Compiles ADA/AMA
15.       Refers students with attendance problems to School Principal
16.       Compiles and posts daily student attendance.
17.       Contacts parents of students not in compliance with attendance policy
18.       Substitutes for nurse for minor items in the absence of the nurse or health assistant
19.       Assists parents in retrieving their children to pick the child up from school
20.       Maintains Xerox machine and responsible for addition paper to the machine.
21.       Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as assigned by the principal

Technical:
1. Manages school records in accordance with Illinois School Student Records Act, providing efficient retrieval of information and other related archival responsibilities 
2. Maintains the daily environment of the school office facility and supplies
3. Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties
4. Computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology
Interpersonal:
1. Maintains contact with a professional nursing organization and utilizes continuing education opportunities to enhance professional knowledge
2. Participates as an active member of the school community, representing health/wellness
3. Performs other such duties and assumes other such responsibilities as may be assigned by the School Principal or Associate Superintendent of Education

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:    180 Days; Monday - Friday
 
SALARY RANGE:  Starting $15.64 per hour.

   1. Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
 
3. Experience:
   1. Required – One (1) year experience providing office support, including answering phone calls.  Working with parents and students required. Spanish speaking required
   2. Preferred – One (1) year experience providing office support, including answering phone calls.  Experience working with parents and students required. Spanish speaking required. Experience in handling these duties in a public-school office setting preferred.  
 
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists the Director of Language Acquisition by supporting the Language Acquisition program.
2. Assists the Director of Language Acquisition in maintaining documentation for grant compliance.
3. Provides office support for the department including printing, filing, and mailing reports as well as communicating with administration, teachers, and parents.
4. Responsible for filling supply requisitions and inventory of supply orders for the department.
5. Types and files purchase orders as requested by the Director of Language Acquisition.
6. Contacts various vendors for quotes, purchasing of materials, inventory of materials, and disposition of materials.
7. Performs data entry in various data platforms/programs.
8. Assists with maintaining data so that the department’s budget remains accurate.
9. Assists with the Dual Language lottery placements.
10. Assists with Registration of new students, welcoming families, review of records, and student placement.
11. Sends records of transferring students to requesting school.
12. Assists the department with student assessments.
13. Assists with the coordination of evening events and participates in these events, as needed.
14. Coordinates the logistics of night classes.
15. Distributes papers to teachers and students.
16. Distributes mail to teachers and staff.
17. Assists with managing the TRIN (Translators and Interpreters) program.
18. Assists the ESL Coordinator and the Spanish Interpreter, Translator and Community Outreach Specialist as needed.
19. Provides translation and interpretation as needed.
     
 OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in other areas as needed.
2. Complete other duties as needed.

Technical: Must be proficient in utilizing data networking programs and printers to perform the work.  Must be able to use the district email system, Google platforms, Microsoft Office, and the district’s attendance system.

Interpersonal: Must be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, students, businesses and community.  Must have strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills; and a strong sense of teamwork.  Must be able to cope with deadline pressures; make difficult decisions that impact the organization in a positive sense; work harmoniously with the community, students, parents, staff, and administration, etc.; communicate effectively with students, parents and staff; exhibit sound judgment in dealing with people; and follow directives given by Administration.
