Technical College of the Rockies is seeking a part time clinical instructor(s) for our Medical Assistant & Nurse Aide program. Candidate must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or higher with a current Colorado license in good standing and have at least one year of nursing experience in caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age,  a minimum of 4,000 hours of work experience in the program area within the past four years, ability to acquire a Colorado CTE credential, broad knowledge of techniques and practices used in the industry, strong computer and Internet skills, good written and verbal communication skills, previous teaching/training experience preferred but not required.

Position Type:   Technical College of the Rockies/Instructor   Part time Closing Date:   Until Filled   Additional Information:   JOB DESCRIPTION   Title:   Medical Assistant/Nurse Aide Instructor                                                                Reports To:     Program Coordinator/Administrator        General Description:  The clinical instructor will perform instructional duties and related activities in accordance with the mission and procedures of the Technical College of the Rockies (TCR) resulting in effective delivery of instruction and achievement of identified outcomes.  The instructor will work under the supervision of the program coordinator and college administrators and will assist with compliance with all applicable accrediting agencies and maintaining the integrity of the instructional program.   Qualifications:  Candidate must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or higher with a current Colorado license in good standing and have at least one year of nursing experience in caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age,  a minimum of 4,000 hours of work experience in the program area within the past four years, ability to acquire a Colorado CTE credential, broad knowledge of techniques and practices used in the industry, strong computer and Internet skills, good written and verbal communication skills, previous teaching/training experience preferred but not required. General Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate teaching skills and knowledge. Demonstrate proficiency in occupational knowledge and skills. Teach assigned courses with demonstrated competency in multiple instructional delivery methods and focus on effective assessment. Develop, maintain and participate in a robust Advisory Committee in accordance with CCCS and COE guidance. Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and overall performance using appropriate software systems used by the institution. Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the staff handbook Complete and submit all required paperwork and manage budget appropriately Maintain regular communication with all students and appropriate guardians on student progress Maintain discipline and enforce rules of conduct and behavior in accordance with school policy. Oversee and maintain the safety of the students and working environment. Serve as a model in demonstrating correct human relation skills for students to emulate. Maintain a clean learning environment and appropriate inventory for program equipment, materials and supplies. Participate in ongoing professional development and attend all scheduled staff meetings. Communicate with the program coordinator about department needs. Obtain all required instructor credentials and renew as needed. Promote the program, the college and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.   Other Duties Record attendance on all students daily.  Record student progress on the SIS at least weekly. Report VE 135 accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure curriculum is aligned and taught according to the Colorado Common Course Numbering System (CCNS). Write and maintain syllabi, unit lesson plans, daily lesson plans, and various written and performance assessments. Teach all standards and requirements outlined in the individual course syllabi and program approval. Adhere to all school and district policies Work with the coordinator on program development. Arrive 15 minutes before class starts and have everything prepared and ready for class. Attend faculty, department & advisory meetings. Actively recruit students.

Job Description:
The DMS Instructor works under the direction of the Director of Diagnostic Medical Sonography to deliver high-quality instruction and support to students enrolled in the DMS program. This role involves teaching courses, developing instructional materials, and providing guidance to students to ensure successful completion of the program. The DMS Instructor plays a vital role in the education and preparation of future diagnostic medical sonographers, contributing to the success and excellence of the program by delivering high-quality instruction and support to students.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Course Instruction:
• Deliver lectures, laboratory sessions, and hands-on training in diagnostic medical sonography techniques and procedures.
• Utilize effective instructional methods and resources to enhance student learning outcomes.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to facilitate skill development and mastery of course content.
 
Curriculum Development:
• Assist in developing and refining instructional curriculum and materials to align with program objectives and accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with the Director of Diagnostic Medical Sonography to ensure the curriculum meets industry standards and best practices.
 
Student Support:
• Provide academic advice and support to students throughout their educational journey in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success and retention.
• Facilitate student engagement and participation in classroom activities and clinical experiences.





Program Compliance:
• Adhere to accreditation standards set forth by the Accreditation for Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and the Council on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and evaluations to ensure program compliance.
 
Professional Development:
• Stay abreast of advancements and changes in diagnostic medical sonography through continuing education and professional development activities.
• Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and conferences to enhance teaching effectiveness and contribute to program improvement.
 
Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree or certification in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field is required.
• Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen Extended and OB/GYN required.
• Minimum of 2 years or 4000 documented hours of clinical experience in diagnostic medical sonography.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
