Instructional Paraprofessional
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Deer Creek Academy Principal, monitors and assists upper elementary through high school students to meet instructional goals and objectives in an alternative setting.
Essential Job Functions

Works with students individually and in small groups in a separate location from the regular classroom in order to reinforce learning and implement assigned virtual education plans.

Assists students with online coursework designed by certified instructors.

Serves as an advocate for students when needing additional help from certified instructors.

Assists in reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.

Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning, performance, and attendance.

Copies, distributes, and uses educational materials as needed.

Assists teachers with parent contact as requested to foster effective and participatory parent involvement in the students' education.

Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.

Assists administrative staff with additional record keeping, attendance monitoring, and other support as assigned.
Additional Duties:
- Assist with guidance, pupil services, staff or building administration, as needed.
- ?Fill in for other schools within the district as needed. Because there may not always be a student in the alternative placement program. this position may need to fill in as a substitute teacher or other para positions as needed.
