    COMPENSATION RANGE:
    $15.00 per hour 
     
    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
    Working under supervision of the district librarian and building principal. Manages the daily activities for the library. Assists with students as necessary as directed by the district librarian or building administrator.
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
     
    Assist with library management and instruction:
    • Greets visiting personnel and students courteously.
    • Assists students, teachers and public in locating educational materials.
    • Assists students, teachers and public in proper use of educational material and equipment.
    • Helps students, teachers, and staff operate the computers and use of specific programs. 
    • Operates circulation desk in an effective manner.
    • Assists in keeping the library materials and equipment in proper working condition.
    • Assists in the preparations of bibliographies and locating listings. 
    • Shelves and files materials effectively. 
    • Assists teachers and public in the selection of materials for order from PALS.
    • Assists with displays and bulletin boards. 
    • Prepares materials for circulation and processes materials
    • Assists with the daily inventory of equipment and annual inventory of holdings. 
    • Keeps the library neat and orderly. 
    • Willingly adapts to new procedures and new technologies. 
    • Communicating regularly with the teachers regarding library activities
    • Encouraging appropriate behavior.
    • Implementing lessons to students as directed by the district librarian.
    • Collecting money and keeping records of library fines.


    Assumes any other job related duties, which may from time to time be delegated by building administration/special education supervisors. Furthermore, the district librarian or building administration shall make any adjustments in the scope of responsibilities as outlined above which will be in the best interest of the school district.
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Minimum High School Diploma
    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    Must possess good oral, written and communication skills.
    Possess or be in pursuit of Paraprofessional Certification.
     
    WORKING CONDITIONS: 
    Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel.  Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
