IDEA Grant Funded Position
Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is currently recruiting for the position of Behavior Technician. These full-time, school year only, at-will positions will be responsible for providing classroom-based behavioral supports. The recommended candidates for these positions will receive a starting salary of $23.00 per hour, 75% district contribution toward medical and dental insurance, 100% contribution toward vision insurance, 12 paid sick days per year, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.
Overview:
Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is seeking candidates for the position of Behavior Technician. These full-time, school-year-only, at-will positions are responsible for providing classroom-based behavioral support to students. Selected candidates will receive training and ongoing support to effectively implement behavior intervention strategies.
Qualifications:
Required to have Registered Behavior Technician or Paraprofessional Certification
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and use time effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with administrators, team members, district staff, and students.
Reliable transportation to travel to various district sites as needed.
Consistent and reliable attendance.
Ability to obtain a certificate of good health and freedom from communicable diseases, as required by the Illinois School Code.
General Description:
The Behavior Technician provides proactive behavioral support to students, facilitates social-emotional learning, and fosters a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement individualized behavior plans.
Provide small group behavior interventions to support student needs.
Assist in the development of students' social-emotional learning and self-regulation skills.
Support data collection and progress monitoring for behavior interventions.
Participate in crisis response and de-escalation strategies as needed.
Implement evidence-based strategies to reinforce positive behavior and improve student outcomes.
