Receptionist/Student Records
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bilingual preferred.
JOB SUMMARY
Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; notifies office personnel of visitor arrival; maintains telecommunications system.
REPORTS TO
Secretary to the Superintendent & other Central Office Administrators.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
To be determined on the basis of evaluation, training, and responsibilities as recommended by the Superintendent.
PENSION IMRF; Salary is commensurate with experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receptionist - Welcome visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring mqumes.
- Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories; giving instructions.
- Maintains security by following procedures and issuing visitor badges.
- Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Answer telephone:
- Disperse calls and take messages when necessary
- Ensures that the telephone is not left unattended when temporarily leaving the office
- Make sure the answering machine is turned on at night and offin the morning, take any messages that are on the machine
- Sort and distribute US and District mail.
- Assist in the maintenance and storage of all supplies in Central Office storeroom.

- Process all Out-of-District Transfers
- Maintain Permanent Record Cards (collection and filing)
- Maintenance of unrequested student records
Other secretarial responsibilities deemed necessary by the Superintendent, other administrators and the Secretary to the Superintendent.
