OVERVIEW: The Assistant Supervisor of Cleaning will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of building maintenance, cleaning and custodial services in the Cincinnati Public Schools.

- Supervise and coordinate the activities of a large cleaning/custodial work force for Cincinnati Public Schools
- Monitor and evaluate the work performance of employees.
- Manage work sites and train new employees on work procedures and district policies.
- Monitor and assess HVAC functions in Cincinnati Public Schools buildings for compliance with district standards. Such duties could include: testing temperatures in individual rooms; boiler maintenance in accordance with Facilities standards; monitor equipment to ensure routine maintenance is taking place; monitor work records of employees
- Perform inventory and quality analysis of cleaning products.
CUSTOMER FOCUS - Inspect school buildings and submit reports on the general quality of maintenance and cleaning
- Collaborate with schools and district departments to illustrate and improve customer experience
COLLABORATION ACROSS BOUNDARIES - Develop standardized work processes and procedures in the implementation of total quality management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with schools and building principals.
CLEAR AND CANDID COMMUNICATION - Prepare both oral and written reports on cleaning/custodial activities and personnel performance.
- Investigate allegations and documentation relative to the scheduling of disciplinary hearing for assigned sites.

- Develop and implement strategies to improve performance and productivity
PLANNING AND EXECUTING - Assist in the development and implementation of Building Engineer training programs
- Assist in the development and implementation of custodial training and review of custodial best practices
- Develop preventative maintenance strategies and processes
- Perform time, equipment and material studies and evaluate such studies and work performance to set schedules, equipment needs, and personnel requirements.
- Attend relevant meetings during non-traditional hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree - From an accredited university in related field and at least three (3) years of work experience in similar field or Associates Degree from and accredited university with additional certifications and 5 year experience in similar field or high school diploma with additional certifications and a minimum 10 experience in similar field.
Experience and Training: Minimum of three years’ work experience supervising and managing the operations of large buildings including maintenance of sophisticated mechanical systems and building infrastructure; managing or supervising cleaning and custodial staff. Experience with training custodial staff in best practices.
