REPORTS TO: Principal / Curriculum Director / Superintendent
WORK HOURS: Established in conjunction with the superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS: Meet all state certification requirements for a highly qualified teacher
DEFINITION
Instructional Facilitator is an individual holding a valid Montana teacher’s license meeting the criteria for a highly qualified teacher who facilitates continuous improvement in classroom instruction by providing instructional support to teachers in the elements of research-based instruction and by demonstrating the alignment of instruction with curriculum and common core standards and assessments tools; develops instructional strategies; develops and implements training; chooses standards-based instructional materials; provides teachers with an understanding of current research; integrates technology into instruction; assists in the implementation of the components of the Colstrip Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.
Salary: Salary base for the 2025-2026 School Year is $43,746 (0 years experience) - $71,742 (MA20 with 10 years experience). Note: You may bring in up to 10 years experience.
DESCRIPTION
Applies strategies of adult learning across teacher leadership activities
Informs and facilitates the design and implementation of coherent, integrated professional development based on assessed student and teacher needs
Assists teachers in analyzing classroom and state assessment data to inform instruction
4. Provides demonstration lessons in curriculum and teaching techniques for classroom teachers and others
5. Facilitates communication about research based instructional practises and student achievement between and among teachers, within and across grade level
Assists in the implementation of the components of the Colstrip School Improvement processes and initiatives
Demonstrates current instructional technology in the classroom and for data analysis
Provides differentiated assistance to teachers based on individual needs
Facilitates and participates in district and building level training
INTERACTIONS WITH BEGINNING TEACHERS
Establish and maintain a trustful, confidential and non evaluative relationship with beginning teachers to help develop their autonomy as professionals.
Demonstrate skillful use of mentor language.
Assist beginning teachers in reflecting and analyzing their practise and reviewing student work to inform instruction to enhance student achievement.
Use knowledge of equity principles to deepen the beginning teacher’s application of standards.
Model, as appropriate, innovative teaching methodologies through techniques such as team teaching and demonstration lessons.
Provide opportunities for beginning teachers to observe exemplary teaching practices;
Encourage beginning teachers to identify instructional resources and support throughout the entire school community.
Incorporate technology and analysis of data to advance both beginning teacher learning and classroom practices.
Promote collegiality and build community among new teachers by providing professional development.
Maintain and submit required coaching documentation.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Montana teaching license/Highly Qualified Teacher
Four years excellent classroom teaching experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. The employee frequently will work irregular or extended hours while performing the duties of this job.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet environments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely performs routine work. The employee frequently exercises flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another). TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position is a 187 day contract.
Evaluation
Performance of this position will be evaluated on an ongoing basis in accordance with Montana State Statutes and Colstrip Public School District #19 policies
Insurance: Offerings of High and Low Deductible Health Insurance Plans with Health Insurance Savings available. Medical, Vision, and Dental in one plan. District provides $40,000 Life Insurance.
