    Job Summary:

     

    The Levy Senior Center is seeking certified personal trainers, dietitians, and nutritionists to provide specialized services to our senior population. The ideal candidates will design and deliver safe and effective exercise and/or nutrition programs, tailored to individual client needs. You will work one-on-one or in small groups with clients to improve their physical fitness, manage their nutritional health, reduce the risk of falls, and enhance overall quality of life.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     
    • Personal Trainers: Develop and implement individualized exercise programs for clients, considering their fitness levels, abilities, and goals.
    • Dietitians/Nutritionists: Create personalized nutrition plans based on clients' dietary needs, preferences, and health goals.
    • Monitor clients' progress and make necessary adjustments to their exercise or nutrition programs.
    • Provide instruction on proper form and technique for exercises to ensure safety and effectiveness (Personal Trainers).
    • Offer education on the benefits of regular physical activity and proper nutrition to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
    • Communicate with clients' healthcare providers, as needed, to ensure safe and effective exercise and nutrition programming.
    • Maintain accurate records of clients' progress and document any changes in their health or nutrition status.
    • Attend staff meetings and training opportunities to stay current on industry trends and best practices.
    • Be knowledgeable of all safety procedures for senior populations.
    • Be available for consultation during the center's hours of operation and meet regularly with your supervisor for accountability and progress reviews.
     

    Qualifications:

     
    • Personal Trainers: Certification as a personal trainer from a recognized organization such as ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, or equivalent.
    • Dietitians/Nutritionists: Certification as a registered dietitian or certified nutritionist from an accredited organization or completion of an equivalent nutrition program.
    • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or higher and two (2) or more years of progressively responsible work experience in personal training, nutrition, or dietetics, preferably with the senior population.
    • Experience working with the senior population and knowledge of how to adapt exercise and/or nutrition programs for this population.
    • Possesses passion, ambition, drive, and knowledge regarding fitness and/or nutrition.
    • Ability to work in-person during weekdays/weekends.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Effective time management.
    • Energetic, friendly, punctual, and respectful.
    • Self-motivated and committed to continued learning and development.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Current CPR and AED certification (required for personal trainers).
