Description:
Exciting opportunity for an energetic individual with a love and understanding of physical education.  Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of physical education and an ability to apply the concepts of the discipline to meet the needs and interests of students at the elementary school level.  Must work collaboratively with other teachers to build an exemplary physical education experience.  Additional certification in health would be desirable but is not mandatory.
 

Qualifications:
Connecticut Teaching Certificate #044 or the ability to qualify, with appropriate endorsement(s), and expertise in curriculum sub-areas.
 

Salary:
Certified substitute will receive $218.59 per day.  Beyond 60 days substitute will receive $310 per day).

Responsibilities include: Supervise the implementation of positive behavior supports & strategies. Supervise the implementation of comprehensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs. Provide feedback staff in behavioral interventions and Applied Behavior Analysis. Facilitate / suuport ongoing data collection and data analysis for consistent progress monitoring. Provide behavioral consultation and recommendation for comprehensive services. 

Qualifications:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification and Bachelors Degree in Special Education, Autism, Mental Health or related field.

Salary:
Based upon qualifications and experience.

Description:
The Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA)/DTI Paraeducator works in a special education program with elementary aged children with Autism and other Pervasive Developmental Disabilities under the direction of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and special education teachers.
 
The ABA/DTI Paraeducator will be able to:
 
• Implement individual and small group instruction to students with specific behavior programs
• Implement lesson plans developed by the special education teacher or BCBA to support student success in all school settings   
• Be responsible for managing and organizing lesson materials, preparations and other functions to support each student’s individualized education plan (IEP)  
• Be responsible for data collection and maintaining documentation for each student.
• Be responsible for following behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the BCBA and special education teacher.
• Participate in ongoing professional learning
• Support students with personal hygiene and Incorporate safety measures for students

Supervised By:
Special Education Supervisor and/or School Principal

Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a high school diploma. Associates and/or or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education or related field preferred but not necessary. Experience working directly with children with autism and/or behavioral challenges within a behavioral program preferred but not necessary. PMT or similar training preferred.
New College Grads encouraged to apply!!! Good experience for future psychologists, social workers and special education teachers.

Salary:
