MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: | - Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential for School Counseling

DESCRIPTION:
The CV Summer Counselor provides programmatic counseling support for the implementation of Summer School, determines 2025-26 course schedules for new students enrolling during summer, and provides general counseling support as directed by the Principal, or designee.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure accurate CV Summer School course enrollment for credit deficient students and adjust course enrollment as needed in accordance with individual students’ graduation progress.
Contact families of students who are not attending and/or not making adequate progress, as directed by the Summer School Principal.
Update course enrollments for Session 2 based upon Session 1 student outcomes and Spring semester final grades.
Complete course enrollments for any new enrollees, as directed by the Summer School Principal.
Provide tutoring and expanded learning opportunities information to students and families.
Assist in monitoring attendance and course progress of potential Summer Graduation students.
Complete graduation checks for summer graduates.
Verify students’ academic eligibility to participate in the Summer Graduation ceremony.
Connect summer graduates to community college, vocational or trade schools, employment opportunities, or other post-high school options.
Meet with non-graduates to provide Adult School information.
Update Fall 2025 course enrollments based on Summer School course completion, as necessary.
Determine 2025-26 course schedules for new students enrolling during summer.
Provide general counseling support as directed by the Principal, or designee.
