Position Summary:
The Intervention Teacher provides targeted academic support and individualized instruction to students across grades K-8 who are struggling to meet academic benchmarks. The role is critical in bridging learning gaps, promoting student confidence, and ensuring that all learners have the tools they need to succeed in the general education classroom. This position requires collaboration with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to create and implement effective intervention strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Individualized Support:
 
• Assess students’ academic performance and learning needs through formal and informal evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans tailored to students’ unique learning profiles.
• Modify instruction based on continuous data analysis and student progress.
 
Instructional Delivery:
 
• Provide small group or one-on-one instruction using research-based strategies to address reading, writing, math, or other academic deficits.
• Utilize a variety of instructional methods and materials to engage students with diverse learning styles.
• Integrate technology and multisensory approaches to enhance learning experiences.
 
Collaboration and Communication:
 
• Work closely with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional strategies and ensure alignment with curriculum standards.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and recommended strategies for support at home.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of Intervention Plans, as needed.
 
Data-Driven Instruction:
 
• Collect, analyze, and interpret student data to inform instructional decisions and measure the effectiveness of interventions.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress, intervention strategies used, and outcomes achieved.
• Adjust intervention approaches based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
Qualifications:
Education:
 
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
 
Certification:
 
• Valid teaching certification.
 
Experience:
 
• Prior teaching experience in a K-8 setting is preferred.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with learning disabilities, is highly desirable.
Pay:
Based on experience. Starting pay $30,120. Health, dental, and vision offered. Four Percent Company match retirement.

Full-time, on-site role for a 7th grade homeroom, math, religion/junior high science teacher at St. Thomas School in Philo, IL. The teacher will be responsible for teaching math, religion, and junior high science, creating lesson plans and implementing curriculum to engage students.
