  •   Carroll Catholic School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated middle school (5th - 8th grades) Social Studies and Science teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  Classes to be taught to combined 5th/6th and 7th/8th grades include World History, Geography, U.S. History, and Science (earth, physical, life), as well as serving as 7th/8th homeroom. Applicants should have the ability to construct their curricula, develop syllabi, hold high academic and behavior expectations for all their students, offer support and instruction to students at all ability levels, and deliver high quality instruction.  The preferred candidate has an enthusiasm for working with youth, a strong understanding of core concepts and curricula, and the desire to work in a Christian environment.  Please reach out with any questions to Mr. David Welch, Principal, at dwelch@carrollcatholicschool.com.  

    Responsibilities
    • Support and uphold the Catholic mission of the school.
    • Plan a program of study with logically sequenced objectives.
    • Employ a variety of instructional techniques meeting the individual needs and abilities of the students.
    • Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom.
    • Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, or safety concerns.
    • Evaluate academic growth of students.
    • Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate confidential records such as gradebook, attendance, etc.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the work environment and grow professionally.
    • Establish positive relationships and rapport with students.
    • Participate in activities, events, and opportunities to connect with colleagues and students.
    Required Qualifications
    • Current Illinois Professional Educators License with Middle School Social Studies and Science endorsements preferred
