    Purpose Statement:
    The Motor Therapies Coordinator/Case Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), and adaptive P.E. services within the school district. This role includes supporting school personnel, maintaining and ordering equipment, and providing oversight to motor therapies staff.

    Essential Functions:
    PT coordination: 
    • Develop and oversee PT programs tailored to the needs of students 
    • Coordinate with PT professionals to ensure effective delivery of services 
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of PT interventions 
    Support for school personnel: 
    • Provide training and support to school staff on motor therapy techniques and best practices (may include sensory awareness, regulation, and motor intervention, water safety, prompting students with disabilities, mobility strategies, and so on) 
    • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to integrate motor therapy into the educational environment 
    • Serve as a resource for school personnel regarding motor therapy-related issues (i.e., informally observing students, collaborating with building intervention teams, making referrals for special education, participation in IEP and 504 processes, etc.) 
    Equipment maintenance, ordering, and check-in: 
    • Maintain an inventory of motor therapy equipment and ensure it is in good working condition
    • Order new equipment as needed and manage the check-in/check-out process 
    • Ensure that all equipment meets safety standards 
    Oversight of motor therapies team: 
    • Supervise and provide guidance to motor therapies staff; may involve direct service delivery, subbing for providers, and/or assisting them when necessary an appropriate for service delivery (i.e., setting up equipment or providing additional student supervision for aquatics) 
    • Ensure that Adapted P.E. programs are aligned with students' individualized education plans (IEPs) and other relevant plans (may include programming such as inclusion in general education P.E., supplementary or supplanted adapted P.E. as well as bowling, aquatics, and other lifetime recreational/community-based activities)
    Other: 
    • Facilitate, coordinate, and/or conduct relevant assessments, subject specific assessments, etc. for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans
    • Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations, student's achievements, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment
    • Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals (e.g. physical and perceptual motor needs, etc.) for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration
    • Interpret results and make/convey recommendations to school-based teams, as it relates to services, accommodations, and/or modifications  
    • Coordinate transportation and facility reservation for services rendered 
    • Adapts and coordinates classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans
    • Coordinates activities with occupational and physical therapists, classroom teachers and/or community agency personnel for the purpose of developing and adhering to a district-wide flexible schedule for providing motor and recreational services to identified students
    • Counsels students for the purpose of improving performance, health status, problem solving techniques and a variety of personal issues
    • Demonstrates methods required to perform classroom and/or subject specific assignments for the purpose of providing an effective program that addressing individual student requirements
    • Develops specialized equipment and programs for the purpose of improving students' motor skills
    • Directs assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students
    • Instructs students, instructional assistants, parents and other staff for the purpose of assisting students in maximizing their motor skills, fitness and lifetime recreational skills
    • Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment
    • Participates in a variety of meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
    • Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements
    • Reports incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, accident reports, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to education code and school policies
    • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution
    • Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. other teachers, parents, administrators, etc.) for the purpose of resolving issues, providing information, and/or direction
    Certification/Licensure: 
    • State of Wyoming Board Certification or Wyoming PTSB Licensure in related field 
    Experience: 
    • Experience working in a school setting is preferred
    • Strong organizational and communicative skills are a must
    • Needs to be able to collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals
    Work Environment: 
    • The position is based in a school setting and may require travel between different schools within the district (mileage is reimbursable)
    • The Motor Therapies Coordinator/Case Manager will work closely with students, teachers, and other school personnel to ensure the successful implementation of motor therapy programs
