COOPERATIVE EDUCATION (CO-OP) INSTRUCTOR

Job Description/SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing first level instructional assistance and support related to Cooperative Education (Co-Op). Seniors in the current graduating class and, in Spring, second-semester Juniors are eligible for Co-Op. The Career Ladder Co-Op Instructor will support these CCA learners and operate as the primary co-teacher. This instructor is an internal CCA faculty member responsible for ensuring all Co-Op records are aligned to PA Department of Education regulations. Additionally, this professional will collaborate regularly with the Career Readiness Department to provide appropriate updates. This professional acts as a liaison between CCA learners, industry employers, and the learner’s CCA circle.
Required skill set

2. Adept capacity to adapt and troubleshoot edio and PowerSchool grade entry
3. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
4. A minimum of three (3) years as a teacher in good standing with CCA
5. Excellent and proven time management and prioritization skills
6. Recommendation by supervising CCA Assistant Principal and Principal; approval by Human Resources
7. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain good rapport with students, families, and colleagues
8. High degree of flexibility in a fast-paced environment
9. Excellent attention to detail
Preference will be given for:
10. Level II Pennsylvania Teaching Certification
11. A Master’s degree within the designated area of certification
12. Teaching a current course within the Master’s & certificated area
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supply Co-Op documentation forms to learners and support completion of the forms.
2. Ensure forms are uploaded properly for tracking and follow-up with the CCA circle, learners, and families to ensure all forms are turned in.
3. Maintain the most detailed records possible in tracking sheets, data, grades, edio, and PowerSchool relative Co-Op documentation, grades, credits, and credit types, under the direction of the Senior Vice President.
4. Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, collaborate with School Counselors in advising students relating to dropping courses and changing schedules based upon CCA’s Career Readiness participation.
5. Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality with regard to Co-Op documents and contracts, as well as student records.
6. In conjunction with CCA employer partners and under the guidance of the Career Readiness Department, provide support to struggling learners who are assigned to Co-Op, troubleshooting and correcting problems for learners, encouraging self-advocacy.
7. Act as the primary CCA contact and coordinator for all employer partners and conduct check-in calls with employers quarterly to ensure Co-Op success.
8. Remain apprised of new partnerships in development for CCA Career Readiness.
9. Maintain a shared calendar of events and deadlines, communicate events and deadlines to learners and the school community, adhering to CCA’s Critical Timeline.
10. Work in conjunction with the Career Readiness Department to prepare information for public dissemination through approved channels.
11. Attend learner recognition award Career Readiness ceremonies to showcase and celebrate the activities and achievement of CCA learners.
12. Maintain necessary certifications by engaging in prescribed Professional Learning and maintain any industry- or subject-recognized professional memberships.
13. Ensure all learners maintain the requirements of enrollment in Co-Op.
14. Use Co-Op learner and program assessment data and evidence-based methodologies to engage in the continuous improvement of the Co-Op Program.
15. Other duties as assigned.
