Position:                     Elementary School Lead Position for Summer School (One per elementary site)
Date:                           March 18, 2025

Work Days:               May 29-30, 2025, June 2-12, 2025 (Monday – Thursday) 7:30 am – 12:30 pm
Salary:                        $55/Hour
 
Position Summary: The Summer School Lead position provides coordination and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the summer school program at their site maintaining clear and consistent communication with Principals and the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. The Lead will have School Test Coordinator responsibilities for training and administration of the GMAS retest.
 
Reports to:  Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning
 
Education: Masters Degree required
 
License: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate
 
Experience:
• At least 3 years of successful teaching experience in Camden County Schools in a state-tested grade level
• At least 1 year of successful service in a leadership role (e.g., admin intern or lead teacher)
Physical Activity
• Light lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling
• Walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
Knowledge
• Communicates effectively and promotes good public relations with staff, students, and families
• Works with peers/supervisors in a considerate and cooperative manner and assists others when needed
• Understands Camden County policies and code of conduct for students
• Demonstrates patience and care for all students
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Organizational skills
• Strong technology skills
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities for this position:
• Apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program to guide instruction
• Ensures lessons align with Georgia Standards of Excellence and Achievement Level Descriptors
• Serve as the site test coordinator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
2. Exhibits professionalism in all job-related situations
3. Leads and ensures targeted instruction based on summative and formative assessment data
4. Provides technical assistance for the use of appropriate instructional technology
5. Monitors engagement of students in authentic learning experiences
6. Maintains confidentiality of students and students’ records
7. Maintains accurate and complete records
8. Enforces regulations concerning student conduct, discipline, and Camden County Schools policies and procedures
9. Administers GMAS and adheres to state and district testing guidelines
10. Perform other such school related duties as may be required by the Summer School Lead

Position Summary: The Summer School Teacher provides instructional support for students to meet challenging state academic standards by strategically supporting the achievement of students in ELA and Math in Grades 3 or 5 who need extended learning opportunities to demonstrate success on required state assessments.
 
Reports to:  Summer School Lead and Principal
 
Education: Bachelor Degree required
 
License: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate
 
Experience: At least one year of successful teaching experience in Camden County Schools
