Job Description
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be physically and mentally capable of performing the responsibilities outlined below.
Should be knowledgeable about Wyoming’s School Facilities Department and Finance. Past Maintenance Director experience or Buildings Maintenance Training is preferred. Familiarity with Boilers and HVAC equipment a plus.
Reports to: District Superintendent
Job Goal: To ensure the school district facilities remain safe, functional, and in proper working condition, directly impacting the quality of education and the student experience.
Performance Responsibilities:
Supervision of Maintenance Staff- Oversee custodial, maintenance, and grounds staff, ensuring they complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
Maintenance and Repair Scheduling- Develop and implement schedules for routine maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of school facilities and equipment.
Budget Management- Prepare and manage the maintenance department’s budget, allocating resources for repairs, equipment purchases, and staffing.
Safety and Compliance- Ensure that all school buildings and grounds meet local, state, and federal safety regulations, including fire, electrical, and structural codes.
Facility Inspections- Conduct regular inspections of school buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs, potential hazards, and safety concerns.
Emergency Response- Coordinate and lead the response to emergencies such as plumbing failures, HVAC malfunctions, or power outages, minimizing disruption to school operations.
Vendor Management- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers, ensuring timely and quality delivery of outsourced services.
Preventive Maintenance Programs- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems to avoid breakdowns and ensure longevity.
Work Order Management- Create, prioritize, and assign work orders, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of maintenance issues.
Inventory Control- Maintain and manage an inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability and proper usage.
Capital Improvement Projects- Plan and oversee capital improvement projects such as building renovations, expansions, or major repairs, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Team Training and Development- Provide training and development opportunities for maintenance staff to improve skills, enhance safety, and promote career advancement.
Record-Keeping- Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance schedules, repairs, and other operational activities for accountability and reporting purposes.
Collaboration with School Administration- Work closely with school administrators to coordinate maintenance activities, respond to needs, and ensure a safe learning environment.
Performs such duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) month. Salary based on District Maintenance Director Salary Schedule DOE
Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent.
Hours: 6:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.
12:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.
