    Job Description

    Title:                                       HIGH SCHOOL MATHEMATICS TEACHER
     
    Qualifications:                           College Degree in assigned teaching area from an accredited institution.
                                                     Wyoming Teaching Certificate and highly qualified status from the Professional
                                                     Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) at assigned level for elementary or middle
                                                     school or subject area endorsement for secondary.
     
    Reports To:                               Building Principal
     
    Job Goal:                                   Under the general supervision of the School Principal; To develop students' skills and competence in basic and complex mathematical principles, equations, formulas and calculations, as well as an understanding of the application of mathematics in the solution of practical problems. To perform all duties and responsibilities in a competent, confidential, ethical and professional manner.
     
     
    Performance Responsibilities:
     
    1. Develop and administer mathematics curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
    2. Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
    3.            Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for subject area, then translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments.
    4.            Teach knowledge and skills in mathematics, including concepts such as real an imaginary numbers, formulas, calculations and geometry, and promotes creative thinking and analysis in all related subject areas.
    5.            Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.
    6. Maintain familiarity with district and State standardized tests for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement on such tests.
    7. Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field.
    8.  Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
    9. Ensure that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies.
    10. Coordinate with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
     
    Terms of Employment:              Work year will be 205 days as specified by the district calendar and the principal as at-will staff. Salary and benefits as per District salary schedule and Board policy.
     
    Evaluation:                                Performance of this job will be evaluated by the principal in accordance with provisions of the Board policy for evaluation of classified staff.
