ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Provides direct assistance to a classroom teacher in the performance of instructional responsibilities, including:
Tutoring of students individually or in small groups;
Supervision of students during classroom activities, on field trips and media center and other locations;
Assistance in the development of a variety of instructional materials;
Performance of clerical duties related to instruction;
Maintenance of student records;
Operation of instructional media; and
Assists with classroom management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
High School Diploma, required. Associates degree or Parapro preferred. Ability to work well with others in a cooperative manner. Good communication skills. Evidence of initiative, independence, adaptability and efficiency. General understanding of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics. Ability to work well with children. Good language skills including English usage, punctuation, spelling and grammar. General understanding of the purposes and goals of public education. Specific subject area content as may be required by particular job assignment. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is an on-call subsitute position. Substitute paraeducator pay is set by policy and currently is $16.35 per hour (Or current minimum wage)
