    About us: Berks Career and Technology Center (BCTC) is a leading career and technical education provider, offering high school and adult students the opportunity to enhance their education with hands-on, industry-relevant experiences.     Qualifications:  A high school diploma and a minimum of four years of recent, full-time wage-earning experience in the medical field (beyond the training period) are required. At least one year of experience in long-term healthcare is mandatory. A current LPN license is required, while an RN license is preferred.
    In addition, must hold or be eligible to obtain a PA Career and Technical Instructional Certificate in Health Occupations. Prior teaching or training experience is a plus. Experience working with high school-aged students is highly desirable.   

    Skills & Competencies: Ability to develop lesson plans, deliver hands-on training, and incorporate industry-relevant skills. Up-to-date knowledge of healthcare protocols, procedures, and technology. Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and patient care skills. Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with students from diverse backgrounds.

    Work Schedule: 2025-2026 school year start date. Normal workday:  Mon. – Fri., 7:30 am to 3:15 pm, 7 ¾ hours. The day includes a 30-minute duty free lunch. 10-months (190 days/year). This includes six (6) evening functions per school year equaling three (3) contractual workdays). Two days per month, there will be up to an additional fifteen (15) minutes added to the workday for faculty meetings.
