    We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Special Education Teacher to join our new elementary school, working in a program designed to support students with identified behavioral needs. The ideal candidate will have certification in Special Education K-6 and possess an understanding of behavioral management techniques and strategies tailored for young learners. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing individualized educational plans for students with behavioral challenges, helping them to thrive academically and socially. You will work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to support the diverse needs of our students while promoting inclusive practices. 

     

     

     

     

    Teaching contracts provide a competitive salary, full health insurance, sick leave, and paid time off. The district accepts applicant’s previous years of teaching experience in placement on the salary scale.

     

    Beatrice is a class B school district located 40 miles south of Lincoln. The district is comprised of approximately 2100 students in grades PK-12. Beatrice Elementary School was opened in August 2024 and serves all PK-5 students. 

     


    Responsibilities

     
    • Develop and implement individualized behavior management plans for students.

    • Monitor and assess student behavior to track progress and adjust strategies as needed.

    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to create a cohesive support network for students.

    • Provide direct support to students experiencing behavioral challenges in the classroom.

    • Conduct regular assessments and report behavior data to guide instructional adjustments.

    • Lead small group and one-on-one interventions focusing on social skills development.

    • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff and parents on behavior management techniques.

     

    Requirements

     
    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.

    • Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.

    • Strong knowledge of behavioral principles and intervention strategies.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff.

    • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement.

    • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of education and behavior management.
