F/T SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
SALARY/BENEFITS: In accordance with the teachers’ contract
REQUIREMENTS: 165 CT Certification
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as case manager for specific students, develop IEP’s, participate in PPT’s and team meetings;
- Ensure that goals/objectives are outcome-based and measurable;
- Design and implement lessons utilizing teaching methods, materials and adaptations appropriate to meet individual student needs;
- Create data charts, collect and interpret data and complete testing as indicated on student IEP’s;
- Develop and implement behavior plans;
- Supervise paraprofessionals;
- Provide consultation services to regular education staff;
- Collaborate with regular education staff;
- Communicate effectively with parents;
- Participate in annual PMT and CPR training;
- Schedule community and vocational activities
