The Albert Lea Area Schools Community Education Driver Education program is seeking to hire Driver Education Instructors to provide Classroom Instruction, Behind-the-Wheel Instruction, be part of our Point of Impact sessions, and become qualified to provide onsite proctoring of permit examinations (following our classroom courses). Our Driver Education program is conducted outside of school hours and during the Summer. Our Behind-the-Wheel schedules are very flexible allowing instructors to choose their schedules based on vehicle availability. Our classroom sessions are scheduled in advance and are done Monday-Friday over two week periods of time. Our Community Education office is very supportive of our program and our instructors. Qualifications: - Must have a current Minnesota Teaching License - Must have a current 7-12 Driver Education Teaching License - Must have high quality, professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills - Must pass a criminal history background check

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, the Occupational Therapist provides services to children with special needs, ages birth through 21, in order for them to benefit from their program of special education instruction.
Provides direct and indirect occupational therapy services as specified in each students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP) plan.
Consults with teachers, school administrators, parents and others as appropriate, regarding students’ fine motor development.
Assesses the fine motor skills including the environmental accessibility of students referred for a special education evaluation. Helps determine the need for environmental adaptations and occupational therapy.
Assesses and makes environmental and other adaptations to allow students to access and benefit from their program of specialized instruction.
Provides training to special education paraprofessionals, and others as appropriate, in carrying out day-to-day activities designed to enhance the motor functioning of students.
Maintains accurate record of therapy sessions, consultations and other pertinent activities.
Supports parents of children with disabilities in understanding the role of occupational therapy services in schools and how to access school or community resources.
Adapts, modifies or recommends specialized equipment to facilitate student performance.
Supports classroom personnel to effectively use classroom based technology and assistive technologies to facilitate student success.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
