Qualifications:
 
Type A Professional or Master teacher certificate required; Must possess thorough knowledge of educational process and school operations; Three (3) years of professional experience in school instruction environment preferred; Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills; Must be proficient in technology to include productivity and workstation software (digital authoring, databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and desktop publishing); Demonstrated abilities to work in a support capacity to students and staff required; Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to address instructional challenges required.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Follows all guidelines and standards for general education teachers.
2. Conducts teacher in-services for SWRS staff.
3. Supports and coordinates all components of Exploration Week activities. 
4. Travels to sites to support staff with curriculum and instruction needs, including but not limited to:
   1. Assist with on-site placement testing and student grouping.
   2. Mentor staff on-site in program implementation according to district-wide curricular plan.
   3. Plan and conduct teacher and instructional aide in-services on district-adopted curriculum.
   4. Collaboratively plan and implement school assessment and evaluation plan.
   5. Assist teachers and district in selecting professional books for study group activities.
5. Organizes and helps implement district-wide assessments.
6. Organizes adopted curriculum materials list for assigned areas.
7. Mentors and supports certified teachers and classified staff at all sites.
8. Reviews and evaluates curriculum content.
9. Works with staff to insure common pacing across the district in similar courses.
10. Facilitates the creation of common course assessments across curriculum areas.
11. Creation and maintenance of an inventory of curriculum materials district-wide.
12. Assists with maintenance of a district implementation of GoogleDocs for instruction and instructs teachers and students on the use of the applications.
13. Work with teachers in planning assignments likely to lead to effective use of District media center resources.
14. Assists with maintenance of a content management system for instruction and instructs teachers and students on the use of the system.
15. Review and recommend curriculum purchases.
16. Orders and disseminates new curriculum materials.
17. Attends appropriate training on instructional best practices.
18. Works closely with all principals to insure implementation of all curricula.
19. Provides remote secondary math instruction to various sites.
20. Promote positive public relations of School District.
21. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Salary placement is based on columns (college credits obtained) and/or steps (number of years of experience). Health insurance is provided (monthly premium co-payment is deducted). Furnished housing is provided (monthly rent payment is deducted; roommate sharing may be required). A travel benefit between Anchorage, AK and the specific location is provided.  This position may be covered by the 2024-2027 the Teacher's Negotiated Agreement as applicable.  The agreement is posted on the district website in the Human Resources department under the Employment Documents section:  SWRSD Human Resources
