QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum of one year experience in related area performing secretarial or general office work in an office with considerable public contact, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training that demonstrates desired knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
3. Working knowledge of computer word-processing and Microsoft Office applications, and Google. 
4. Have knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies. 
5. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

2. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in written form
3. Ability to type or keyboard, and possess working knowledge of standard office equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Meet regularly with the Administrators in Curriculum to develop and prioritize work projects (District Library Media Specialist, Associate Director of Curriculum, and Instructional Technology Coordinator). 
2. Maintains a schedule of appointments, arranges conferences/interviews, travel arrangements and/or hotel accommodations, maintains appointment calendars and schedules, processes incoming correspondence and mail.
3. Takes and transcribes dictation of various types, including correspondence, reports, notices, recommendations, and may attend meetings in the role of recorder.
4. Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed and puts it into usable form.
5. Assists in a wide variety of confidential, administrative and secretarial support to the assigned District Office Administrators/Supervisors/Specialist.  Including but not limited to placing and receiving telephone calls, greeting customers and screening unexpected callers in accordance with a predetermined policy. 
6. Refers non-job specific inquiries to appropriate departments.
7. Maintains a regular filing system, and a set of locked confidential files, and maintains and processes incoming correspondence, documents and materials as instructed and for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties, handles leave requests, and sets up conferences and processes maintenance and purchase requisition orders.
8. Maintains documents, files, and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date accounting of departmental budgets and permanent employee records.
9. Composes complex documents (e.g., correspondence, reports, information brochures, presentations, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public, state officials, etc.
10. Evaluates situations (e.g., involving other staff, students, parents, the public, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
11. Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to reach with hands and arms, sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend as necessary. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens, and use the telephone.   

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor office environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times.   Will have contact with parents, students, staff and the public.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The Curriculum Secretary (District Office) reports to the assigned District Office Administrator/Supervisors/Specialist.  The Curriculum Secretary (District Office) will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
            INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN:  Starting at $15.35 Per Hour
            WORK YEAR:           12 Months / 8 hours per day

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Students in Transition Clerk will work in partnership with school and district staff and community partners to support students and their families who are in periods of transition, such as those experiencing homelessness or being involved with foster care through child welfare organizations.
1. Collect and maintain documentation and data for the department, district, and state.
2. Log, track, and reconcile data using district and state systems/databases (i.e., Synergy, Google, etc.)
3. Create, organize, and maintain student files as they pertain to McKinney-Vento and Foster Care.
4. Disseminate information regarding McKinney-Vento/Homeless Education and Foster Care Education to students, staff, and the community. 
5. Provide support and resource information as needed
6. Assist students, families, schools, and agencies, with obtaining needed records and documents.
7. As needed, contact students, families, and agencies to verify needs, obtain accurate information, and coordinate services.
8. Coordinate services and maintain regular communication with district schools and departments, as well as community agencies.
9. Maintain documentation of communication and meets all required deadlines as they pertain to services for McKinney-Vento and Foster Care.
10. Assist with McKinney-Vento grant applications and related reports.
11. Assist with Foster Care documentation and reports.
12. Assistswith documentation for the dispute resolution process.
13. Inventory, assemble, distribute, and assist with the purchase of items (i.e., backpacks, school supplies, books, etc.)
14. Assist with other student service items/resources for students and families.

5. Collect and monitor student achievement data.
6. Review assessment data regularly with principals and make recommendations for instructional implications and/or remediation plans.
7. Meet with grade level teachers to monitor student achievement.
8. Attend regularly scheduled Instructional Coach meetings at the District Office.

The Instructional Coach reports to the Director of Curriculum/Associate Director of Curriculum. The Instructional Coach will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
