Knox City-O’Brien CISD is a small, rural school district in Texas, serving approximately 195 students from PK3-12th grade, with 65 students in high school. We are dedicated to providing high-quality education in a close-knit, supportive environment.
 
Position Overview:
 
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Family Consumer Science (FCS) Teacher to join our team. This role focuses on teaching essential life skills such as nutrition, culinary arts, child development, personal finance, and career preparation. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for real-world success.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Family Consumer Science.

• Teach subjects such as nutrition, culinary arts, personal finance, child development, and career readiness.

• Provide hands-on, project-based learning experiences.

• Maintain classroom safety, particularly in lab-based activities.

• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community members.

• Participate in professional development and school activities.
 
Qualifications:
 
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Family Consumer Science, Home Economics, or a related field.

• Valid Texas teaching certification in Family and Consumer Sciences (or ability to obtain certification).

• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

• Passion for teaching and mentoring students in a small school setting.

• Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.

team.

Position Overview: The Educational Diagnostician will work within the public school setting to assess and identify students'
learning needs, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborate with educators, parents, and other
professionals to ensure that students receive appropriate educational interventions. The role involves ARD facilitation,
conducting formal assessments, interpreting results, and making data-driven recommendations to support students';
academic success. Both full-time and part-time positions will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessment and Evaluation:
o Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations and assessments to identify students'; strengths and areas
of need.
o Administer, score, and interpret standardized tests and informal assessments.
o Observe students in various educational settings to gather data on academic and behavioral performance.
2. IEP Development: 
o Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans
(IEPs) that address students'; specific learning needs.
o Ensure that IEPs are implemented effectively and monitored for progress.
3. Consultation and Collaboration: 
o Work closely with teachers, parents, school administrators, and other professionals to support students';
educational goals.
o Provide consultation and training to school staff on IEP preparation, planning and development.
o Provide consultation to school staff on instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications for
students with diverse learning needs.
o Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of intervention plans.
4. Documentation and Reporting: 
o Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, evaluations, and IEPs.
o Prepare detailed reports summarizing assessment findings and recommendations.
o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations and policies related to special education.
5. Professional Development: 
o Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in the field of special education.
o Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and training sessions as required.
6. Other Duties: 
o Perform other related duties as assigned by the Special Education Director.

Qualifications:
? Master’s degree
? Valid certification as an Educational Diagnostician in the state of Texas
? Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding special education.
? Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
? Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
? Proficiency in using assessment tools and technology for documentation and reporting.

Position Overview: The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating
communication disorders and difficulties in students ages 3-21. The SLP will work collaboratively with teachers, parents,
and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans that address students'; speech, language,
and communication needs. Additionally, the SLP will provide consultation, support, and training to school staff and parents
to promote the generalization of skills across settings. Both full-time and part-time positions will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
? Conduct comprehensive assessments of students'; speech, language, and communication skills using standardized
tests, informal observations, and interviews with parents and teachers.
? Analyze assessment data to determine students'; strengths and areas of need, establish diagnostic impressions,
and develop individualized treatment plans.
? Provide direct therapy services to students with a variety of communication disorders and difficulties, including
articulation disorders, language delays, fluency disorders, and social communication deficits.
? Implement evidence-based intervention techniques and strategies to address speech and language goals, facilitate
communication development, and improve students'; functional communication skills.
? Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to integrate therapy goals into
the students educational program and support their academic success.
? Monitor and document student progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate regularly with
parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
? Provide consultation, support, and training to school staff and parents on communication strategies,
accommodations, and techniques for supporting students'; communication needs in the classroom and at home.
? Manage and coordinate required paperwork and meetings within timelines.
? Follow policies and procedures of Haskell Knox Shared Service Arrangement and Districts served.
 
Qualifications:
 
? Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited
institution.
? Valid state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
? Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) issued by the American Speech-
Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
? Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school or clinical setting preferred.
? Strong understanding of speech and language development, communication disorders, and evidence-based
intervention techniques.
? Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
? Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the needs of diverse students.
