Portland Public Schools: Long Term Substitute Music Teacher (part-time)
Portland Public Schools seeks innovative and passionate education substitutes to join our team to work as a long term substitute at St. Patrick’s from February 4, 2025 through March 31, 2025. Daily stipend of $220 for certified substitute or $180 for non certified substitute
The desired candidate would possess the following attributes:
Knowledge of MTSS and PBIS to support student needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Willingness to coach or serve as an advisor for extracurricular activities including developing programs
Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning practices
Ability to handle complex and stressful issues or situations with sound judgment, common sense, and a calm demeanor
Impeccable character, a good sense of humor, and compassion for students, families, and staff
Eligible candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Possess a valid Michigan Teacher’s Certificate or Substitute Permit.
Ability to plan, deliver, and assess student learning
Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues
Demonstrated ability to sustain and improve student achievement outcomes
Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate of high expectations and strong collaboration, high staff and student morale, and positive community involvement

Calendar: As per District Calendar
Compensation: In accordance with agreement between Portland Public Schools and PCMI willSub.
