Deactivate Old Postings
When a position has been filled, it is generally not a good idea to delete the posting. Instead, you should "close" it which means the posting is not visible to the applicants. You can also remove the posting from the Find Applications -> By Vacancy screen by changing the "Is Active" status to "No".
Here's how:
1) Edit the vacancy. The "AppliTrack Status" field controls whether or not the posting is displayed to administrators.
For example, if a posting was to be open for 10 days and then available to administrators for another month your settings might be:
Is Active: Auto. | Open Date: 1/1/2006 | Close Date: 2/10/2006 |
This would let applicants apply for 10 days. After the tenth day, the position is not yet filled, so the position still needs to be on the admin screen. We're assuming that we'll fill the position within one month of it closing. If this is not the case, either adjust the "Is Active" Close Date or simply select "Is Active = Yes" (in which case the posting would be on the administrative screens until you took it off).
2) Change "Is Active" to "No" to immediately remove the posting from the admin Find Applications -> By Vacancy Screen.
3) Apply/Save when you're finished.
4) Done!
Further Explanation:
When administrators go to the 1) Find Applications 2) By Vacancy screen and click 3) the category they will only see positions listed according to the "Is Active" field as shown above.
1) If we want to remove a posting from the Find Applications -> By Vacancy screen as shown below...
... all we need to do is change the "Is Active" field to "No" as shown below and Apply (Save) the change.
And now when we return to the Find Applications -> By Vacancy screen, the posting is no longer present as shown below.
If we want to view the applicants for the posting, even though it is now "Is Active = No", we can bring it back to this screen by selecting Options -> Include All Postings.
Here's how:
1) Click Find Applications > By Vacancy
2) In the upper, right hand corner, check off "Include Inactive Postings."
3) Re-visit the category and you should see ALL postings (both "Is Active = No" AND "Is Active = Yes") listed.
4) Done!
Additionally, you can mark several postings as "Not Active" at a time.
Here's how:
1) Navigate to the "Is Active" column within the Job Postings tab and change the "IsActive" column for applicable postings to "No."
2) Click "Save Changes"
