2024/2025 Support Staff Class III Hourly Rate Range: $14.50 - $20.00
8 hours/day (Ability to choose schedule: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM or 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM )
Full-time District Benefits Included SUMMARY OF PURPOSE This position is responsible for keeping assigned building(s) clean, safe, functional, and secure in accordance with prescribed codes and established District policies and standards. Critical areas include the maintenance of all assigned building(s) in a state of operational excellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the education program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Daily custodial cleaning/preservation of facilities, buildings, spaces, equipment, and furniture
2. Maintain work related records and prepare work reports as directed
3. Provide custodial/maintenance services to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities
4. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment needed for daily cleaning
5. Provide inventory usage data updates to Head Custodian (as needed)
6. Identify, schedule and perform seasonal routine cleaning of facilities
7. Provide customer service to district staff, students and visitors as needed
8. Prioritize duties to address emergencies as needed
9. Oversee buildings and grounds security to include opening and closing of buildings and/or facilities and ensuring that all doors are secure
10. Unload and load supplies, materials and equipment as required
11. Landscaping duties including, but not limited to: mowing, weeding, and grounds maintenance
12. Snow removal duties including shoveling snow and salting walkways
13. Adherence to all Custodial Department requirements including proper use of machinery and equipment
14. Available to address on call or overtime needs for emergency repairs, equipment monitoring, or any other District requests
15. Other duties as assigned by Director of Buildings and Grounds, Head Custodian, or Building Administrator

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3 months related experience and/or training is required. The following clearances must be provided upon hire and updated every five years in accordance with Act 153: PA State Police- Act 34, Child Abuse-Act 151, and FBI Fingerprint-Act 114. Child Abuse training (or proof of completion) in accordance with Act 126 upon hire and repeated every five years thereafter. A negative TB test is required upon hire.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL Activities: Sitting <5%, walking/standing 95-100%, regular lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 80 lbs., reaching with hands and arms, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling; climbing on ladder
Vision: Normal; Close vision, color vision and ability to focus
Mental Demands: Ability to interpret, analyze and problem solve written and verbal communications
Environment: Moderate noise level; Hot, cold, dry, wet conditions, dust, caustic/harmful chemicals, blood-borne pathogens and/or indoor and outdoor conditions; Evening and weekend work
