General Duties: Provide nursing consultation for students with special health needs. Lead health and safety training for Kids' Campus staff.

Hours/Schedule: On call for consultation. 

Responsibilities.
- Provide health and safety training to Kids’ Campus team.
- Maintain confidentiality and data privacy
- On call for health and safety consultation during before/after care hours.


Salary:  Per terms of Nurse Contract


Required Qualifications:  Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse License, current First Aid and CPR certification, Computer Literacy

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to develop good relationships with students and staff
- Ability to work well as a member of a team
- Ability to initiate assigned tasks independently
- Ability to effectively communicate ( oral, electronic and written forms )
- familiar with computer programs for data entry - Microsoft Word, Outlook, Google Docs/Drive , etc

REGISTERED NURSE

RESPONSIBLE TO: Health Services Coordinator and McAuliffe Elementary School Principal
 
SCHEDULE & HOURS:
• Monday – Friday  7.5 hours per day per school calendar  8:15 AM - 3:45 PM

 RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Provide direct skilled nursing services, first aid, illness and emergency care to students in accordance with professional standards, school policy and procedures, state and local mandates.
• Administer medications and treatments as a professional nurse according to District #200 policy (e.g. glucose testing, medication administration, inhaler treatments, etc.)
• Maintain a daily log of health office visits including student visits and actions taken
• Conduct health care assessment and decision making based on medical knowledge and licensure
• Conduct vision and hearing screenings and other screenings as assigned.
• Delegate nursing functions as necessary, with appropriate assessment, teaching, monitoring and supervision according to the Minnesota Nursing Practice Act.
• Maintain confidentiality and data privacy
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff
• Maintain and update health records, immunization files, and records.
• Assist Licensed School Nurse in the development and implementation of IEP, IHP, and other health planning for students under their license and direction.
• Participate on Child Study Team, assist Licensed School Nurse in assessment, development, and implementation of IEP, IHP and other health plans for students under their license and direction, submit Third Party Billing as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

SALARY/BENEFITS:             Per the Unaffiliated Master Contract
•   RN starting wage - Grade 11, Step 1 -- $34.13/hour 
•   Medical and dental health care benefits, six paid holidays, two vacation days, and two essential days.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
• Registered Nurse in accordance with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Ability to readily navigate and utilize computer systems (ie: data entry systems, email, Microsoft Word and Google Drive)
• Ability to communicate with students, parents, staff, and community in a positive and responsive manner that is consistently welcoming and promotes good working relationships (oral, electronic, and written forms)
• Prompt, regular, and reliable attendance
• An appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions
• Ability to initiate and follow through with assigned tasks independently
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience working in a hospital or emergency room setting
• Experience working in an educational setting
• Experience working with children
