Kids’ Campus Assistant Staff
 

Location: District Wide
 
 Hours: School year hours are before and after school depending on site. There are also varying hours on non-school days and occasional staff meetings as needed.  Hours will average out to 4-6 hours per day, 5 days a week. 
 

Starting wage:  $15.30 for non contracted staff (Under 10.5 hours per week) 
                           Starting at $18.25 /hour for contracted staff (Min 10.5 hours per week) 

Benefits: Full benefits are listed under the Community Education Paraprofessional Contract 
 
Job Responsibilities:
 
-Assist in supervising assigned activities
 
-Follow and enforce protocols for safe environment for children and staff
 
-Establish positive and friendly relationships with students and families
 
Required:
 
-Experience working with children
 
-Ability to work in a team setting
 
-Prompt, regular, and reliable attendance
 
-Current First Aid and CPR certification

Position Description
 
POSITION TITLE:     Cook Assistant - Food Service – .5 hour mornings

FLSA:     Non-Exempt 
 
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: 
• If current bargaining unit member, pay will be according to the Food Service Master Agreement
• If non-bargaining unit member pay rate will be $17.50 per hour
• This position does not qualify for benefits as it is a non contracted position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to read and communicate in English
• Accurately count, weigh, and measure
• Ability to adapt to sudden and/or unpredictable changes in the day’s tasks or work flow
• Follow instructions and take initiative in performance of assigned tasks
• Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, reach, and squat on a constant basis
• Physical ability to use hands and fingers dexterously
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
 
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must work in a hot, humid environment
• Must work in a cold or below zero environment for short period
• Must work in a noisy environment
 
REPORTS TO:     Director of Food & Nutrition Services
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Benefits and work calendar as provided by the Classified Agreement.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner
2. Use techniques outlined in recipe or as instructed (chopping, dicing, mixing, slicing, etc.) to assist with food preparation
3. Portion foods into appropriate quantities per recipe or as instructed
4. Place menu and a la carte foods on serving line and assemble the appropriate serving utensils
5. Serve food according to recipe portion or as instructed
6. Monitor and record temperatures of food and beverages, report unsafe temperatures to in-charge individual, and take appropriate corrective actions
7. Operate point of sale system including making change if necessary and utilize Offer vs. Serve principles
8. Wash trays, pans, and other items using dish machine or three (3) compartment sink
9. Disassemble serving line and clean serving area
10. Discard or properly store leftover foods
11. Perform cleaning tasks as assigned
12. Perform all tasks in accordance with HACCP guidelines
 
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Report to work at scheduled time with proper uniform and appropriately groomed
2. Adhere to all school district, building, and department rules and regulations
3. Assist in unpacking boxes, stocking storeroom or coolers, pulling food items from storeroom and other inventory management duties as assigned
4. Utilize proper hand washing techniques
5. Participate in meetings, training sessions, and seminars as scheduled
6. Complete other tasks as assigned
