ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
2025-2026
The Therapeutic Social Worker will be responsible for:
Improving the behavioral functioning and academic performance of the district’s at-risk students through counseling, home partnership, direct intervention,
and teacher consultation.
Providing emotional support by teaching coping strategies and providing daily counseling support for students in need.
Collaborating with the child’s family and treatment team to address barriers to social emotional learning and educational progress.
Developing, runninging and adjusting counseling groups for students identified as having life circumstances that impact social and/or academic well-being with the educational environment.
Developing, facilitating, and providing professional development around executive functioning, understanding the effect of ACES on student performance,
trauma informed teaching, and other mental health topics.
Qualifications:
NJ Licensure as a LSW or LCSW.
New Jersey School Social Work Certification.
Experience serving as a child or adolescent social worker working with at-risk students preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
