Annual Stipend Position - Mentor Teacher 2024-2025 School Year

Mentor/Mentee Coordinator(s)
Description: BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Mentors will support the professional development of their assigned mentees through participation in and implementation of the CA-BOCES Mentor-Mentee Program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide information regarding procedures, routines, and guidelines of the division/program/department, the building, and the BOCES organization.
- Assist with the physical layout of the classroom/lab in accordance with sound pedagogical practices, student needs and Mentee comfort level.
- Provide direction in collecting, organizing, creating and using materials and resources for instructional purposes.
- Facilitate participation in study groups/team meetings/ faculty meetings, professional learning communities.
- Provide/recommend resources, both internal and external, for professional development opportunities that will enhance the individual skills of the Mentee.
- Schedule time for collaborative planning
- Share effective ideas, practices, and strategies, which may include visits to another classroom-in-action.
- Participate together in various conferences and related activities.
- Assist with goal setting and reflection (monitor and adjust)
- Maintain the Record of Mentoring Activity log and submit it to the Mentoring Coordinator at year end.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual stipend position, ending June 30 of the current fiscal year.
EVALUATION:
End of the year surveys by both the mentor and Mentee as well as observations by the Mentor Coordinators.
Stipend Amount:
$500-First Mentee
$250-Each additional Mentee
Qualifications:
Current CA BOCES employee. Ideal candidates have thorough organizational knowledge of CA BOCES across multiple departments and knowledge of current staff development/new teacher needs.
