Job Summary:
Assist the building principal in fulfilling the goals and objectives of the school and be directly involved in student activities and disciplinary action.

Requirements and Experience:

Duties and Responsibilities (including but may not be limited to):
• Assist the building principal in the administration of instructional programs for the building.
• Accept responsibility, as delegated by the building principal, for the administration and supervision of the school in accordance with the policies developed by the Board.
• Evaluate and supervise the work of teachers and support staff, as directed by the building principal.
• Implement the systems of evaluation and supervision of instruction developed in the district for improvement of professional teachers and instruction, including observation, report preparation, conferencing, assisting, and providing instructional leadership.
• Assess the needs of the staff, facilitate staff development programs, and assist the building principal in the development and delivery of in-service programs for building staff.

• Supervise the development and maintenance of student attendance records, including administering the student attendance policy and recommending, to the building principal, resolutions for chronic attendance issues.
• Assist in developing and supervising policies and practices to maintain effective building safety, as well as emergency and disaster procedures.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of appropriate curriculum materials and reports, as directed by the building principal.
• Participate in the coordination, implementation, and supervision of extracurricular programs of the school, and respond to student-initiated requests for specific new extracurricular clubs, activities, and programs.
• Provide leadership for curriculum development and implementation in cooperation with administrators, supervisors, and teachers.
• Coordinate the services available to students in cooperation with the pupil services department by serving as a member of the instructional support team and coordinating school and community resources for students at risk.
• Assist the building principal in the formation of the master schedule for the organization of instruction.

Qualifications:

• Database: Develop and maintain a sponsor database to track all relationships, partnerships, and opportunities.
• Research and Prospecting: Research potential sponsors, including local businesses, regional corporations, and national entities with an interest in education or community engagement; Conduct outreach to prospective sponsors through calls, emails, meetings, and other communication methods

The West York Area School District has new Special Education Complex Needs Teacher openings at Lincolnway and Trimmer Elementary and our Middle School for the 2025-2026 SY.

Complex Needs Classrooms are Life Skills classes that offer support to students with varying disabilities including students with intellectual disabilities, students with autism who have language, and students with severe learning disabilities.  These classes may include medical needs.

Qualification:
 
• Proper Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Experience with instructional methodology.
 
Duties and Responsibilities (including but may not be limited to):
 
• Promote the student's welfare and proper educational development in keeping with the accepted theories of child growth and development.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff members and parents.
• Assist with cocurricular and other duties as determined by the building principal.
• Keep accurate records of students' evaluations, reporting to the parent or guardian the progress and adjustment.
• Interpret the curriculum through contact with the parents and daily contact with students.
• Provide for the care and proper usage of school property and maintain current inventory used for instructional purposes.
• Cooperate with and participate in the planning and evaluation of the school program.
• Assist with, and participate in, the in-service programs offered in the schools, as needed.
• Contribute to the development of, and support for, building and district goals.
• Follow planned course objectives and time requirements for teaching assignments.  
• Oversee teacher aides in the performance of their duties.
• Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the Principal, or designee.

Job Summary:  Perform clerical assistance in the health room office, including projecting a positive image for the district.

Qualifications:
 
• Registered Nurse (RN) certification OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification
• Experience in the medical field. 
 
Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
 
• Assist the school nurse with any emergency situation.
• Render first aid to students and dispense medication, per instructions.
• Prepare physical and dental forms for parents' completion.
• Record information from health room logs to individual health records.
• Distribute follow-up letters of referrals that are outstanding.
• File correspondence and paperwork.
• Assist with the care, storage, inventory, and requisition of equipment and supplies.
• Prepare attractive and informational displays.
• Maintain and update the student health record files.
• Keep the health room orderly and attractive.
• Enter immunizations into Sapphire. 
• Coordinate student physical examination times for instructional staff members, completing passes for students, as needed.
